Sterilized at temperatures of over 1.200 C, RIO sand is a perfect means of ensuring that the cage remains clean and fresh.
Further hygiene control is provided by eucalyptus extract, which possesses healing qualities and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and disinfecting properties. It is a good way of preventing bacteria and parasites (red mites, feather mites and lice) from multiplying on birds bodies. It also neutralises unpleasant odours.
The white colour of the sand helps the birds to preserve their original colouring. The added pieces of oystershells serve as a source of calcium and other minerals.
